    New Puppy

    Hi Everyone,
How are ya'll doing? I'm okay...got a new puppy. We came home the other day, and as we came down the street, a puppy was coming up the street following it's owners car. which the girl in the car didn't seem to care. Actually she was the teen-age daughter of the owner. I was very uncomfortable with bringing the puppy back to it's owner, because of what I had seen. The girl didn't seem to care that the puppy had gotten out of the fence and was headed up the street towards another really busy street. Regardless we stopped, picked up the puppy and took it home. About one hour later our neighbors little girl  (the owner of the dog)  came and ask us if we wanted her puppy? They didn't have a good fence and the puppy was too hard to handle. Of course the little girl ask me this within ear shot of my  8  year old daughter, who is begging me to let her have the puppy. So I discuss this with my husband and we decide to take her in. I then go over to talk to the mom and pick her up. We chat for a few minutes and when I'm ready to go home I reach down to put the leash on her and find doggy-doo-doo all over her neck and under her chin area. The dog wasn't used to being on a leash, so I picked her up and carried her home, and the smell was horrible. She smelt like she practically lived in a kinnel. Seriously. We gave her 2 bath's (back to back) and she has become a very good dog. She is golden retriever / brittany spaniel mix. I just love her. My daughter bonded with her immediately. She sleeps with her at night. They're 2 peas-in-a-pod. And very happy together.Smile

I guess the moral of this story is...good things come in 'stinky' packages!.....hee-heeWink
